This is a 12-month contract, hybrid role requiring 1 day per week (Tuesdays) in the office in Saint Paul, MN. Candidates must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the modernization of a large existing system. The goal is to enhance system integration, automation, and security while transitioning to a modernized technology stack. The current system is built on .NET Framework 4.8 and SQL Server 2019.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in system enhancements, including technical requirements, testing, reporting, and compliance with standards.

  • Lead development teams, provide training, and delegate tasks as needed.

  • Maintain and monitor system functionality.

  • Address technical support requests from system users.

  • Lead integration efforts with external agencies and third-party vendors.

  • Provide guidance on best practices for system integration and resolve potential issues.

  • Conduct research and participate in related activities to improve system capabilities.

  • Work within Agile frameworks, including sizing work for program increments and sprints.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement system improvements.

  • Oversee system maintenance and necessary updates.

  • Provide technical and business requirements for system modernization and support data integration efforts.

  • Ensure knowledge transfer to relevant teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of eight years of experience as an Enterprise Architect.

  • At least four long-term (6+ months) engagements as an Enterprise Architect.

  • Minimum of five years as a lead developer.

  • Three or more years of experience designing solutions for multiple clients across various business units.

  • Deep understanding of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering.

  • Strong systems thinking skills to analyze the broader impact of system changes.

  • Knowledge of IT governance and operational best practices.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong project and program management capabilities.

  • Agile experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience working in a government agency or on government-related projects.
